Puttur: In a recent consultation meeting held on February 5 at Kotecha Hall in the city, Puthila Parivar announced that BJP leaders have a three-day deadline to decide on the inclusion of the Puttila Parivar into the party fold. The decision was conveyed by Srikrishna Upadhyaya on behalf of Puthila Parivar.

Addressing the gathering, Srikrishna Upadhyaya emphasized the workers’ sentiments, stating that Arun Kumar Puthila, a long-time contributor to the organization for over 35 years, should not be relegated to an ordinary BJP worker. The demand is for Arun Kumar to be accorded a status commensurate with the wishes of the workers.

During the meeting, it was noted that Arun Puthila has maintained a respectful demeanor throughout his political career and has refrained from speaking disrespectfully against anyone. As a result, the decision was made that Arun Puthila would not issue any apologies.

Arun Puthila addressed the ongoing discussions between Puthila Parivar and BJP, expressing readiness to rejoin the national party. He also challenged those accusing him of financial improprieties during the assembly elections to publicly state their claims during the procession at Sri Mahalingeshwar Temple in Puttur.

In response to demands from the meeting attendees, there was a call for Arun Puthila to be given the BJP ticket from Dakshina Kannada constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Arun Kumar responded by assuring that he would act according to the wishes of the workers if not granted an opportunity to join the BJP.

The meeting also drew parallels with past instances where leaders like Yediyurappa and Haladi Srinivas Shetty left the BJP, contested elections, and later returned to the party. The Puthila Parivar questioned the logic behind Arun Puthila not being accommodated similarly.

Key members present at the consultation meeting included Shashank Kotecha, Prasanna Martha, Umesh Kodibailu, Manish Kulal, Mallika Prasad, Anil, Rajesh, and others from Puthila Parivar.
