Moral policing: Couple harassed at Panambur beach, four held

In a case of moral policing reported from Panambur beach at Mangaluru, a group of persons abused and harassed a woman for being in the company of a man from another religion.
Acting on the complaint filed by the woman, police took into custody four persons – three persons from Belthangadi and another from Bantwal, and subjected them to questioning.
The complainant a Hindu woman from Kadur and working in Bengaluru met her acquaintance at Panambur beach to congratulate him for winning a literary award.
At the time a group of youths intercepted them and questioned them for being together. The accused even made videos of the couple. In her complaint, the victim stated that the accused invaded her privacy and demanded action against them.
Further investigation is on.
