Udupi: Renowned Daivanartaka Sadhu Panara is no more

Udupi: Renowned Daivanartaka of Udupi district, Karnataka Janapada Academy awardee Sadhu Panara Manchikere passed away on February 12 after a brief period of illness.

Sadhu Panara, ‘Daivaradhaka’ of Manchikere, Alevoor village, Udupi district, was the son of the late Jogu and late Kargi couple. He was 68 years old and had been involved in divine worship for 45 years.

He conducted Daivaradhane in the Udupi district and outlying towns and mainly served the deities Jumadi, Vyaghra Chamundi, Kallukuttiga, Panjurli, Baggu Panjurli, Bobbarya, and Maledhumavati.

Many organizations have already honored him in recognition of his artistic service. Sadhu Panara is survived by his wife Vasanthi Panara, son, and two daughters.
