Mangaluru: Police officials arrest battery thief, recover goods worth Rs 3.9 lakh

Police officials have arrested an individual involved in the theft of vehicle batteries within the jurisdiction of Konaje police station.

The arrest follows a complaint filed on January 29 regarding the theft of truck batteries. On February 14, Konaje Police Sub-Inspector Ashok, along with officers Santhosh, Basavanagowda, and Suresh, successfully apprehended Riyaz Talapady, a resident of Kelagina Mane near Kaje, Talapady, from Natekal.

During the arrest, authorities also seized the scooter used by the suspect while committing the crimes, along with the stolen batteries. The estimated value of the recovered goods amounts to Rs 3.9 lakh.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal and the direction of Deputy Commissioners of Police Siddartha Goyal and Dinesh Kumar.
