M’luru Gerosa school case: Woman alleges receiving threat calls; MLAs secure bail

Mangaluru: A woman has lodged a complaint that she has been receiving threatening calls ever since she spoke to the media about a case involving the alleged insult of religion by a teacher in a private school in the city.
The woman, Kavitha, has filed a complaint with the Kankanadi Town police station in this regard.
According to the complainant, her daughter is a seventh-standard student in the same private school where the incident occurred. She, along with Hindu organizations, had visited the DDPI office to demand action against the teacher. During this time, she provided a statement to the media.
Subsequently, Kavitha alleged that she was terminated from her job at a private school in Thokkottu.
The complainant said that she and her family have been receiving threatening calls on their mobile phones.
MLAs and others get anticipatory bail:
In another related development, regarding the protest outside Gerosa School in Mangaluru, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Bharat Shetty, and others have been granted anticipatory bail by a special court in Bengaluru.
This follows a criminal case filed against the MLAs in Mangaluru South Station police station by Gerald Lobo.
Additionally, anticipatory bail has been granted to Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sharan Pumpwell, as well as corporators Sandeep and Bharat Kumar, who were also named in the case.
