Magadi (Ramanagara): Minister of Women and Child Welfare Lakshmi Hebbalkar on Thursday informed that the government plans to implement a sixth guarantee for Asha and Anganwadi workers.

Speaking at a program in Magadi, Hebbalkar said, “Our government has successfully implemented the five poll guarantees. We have undertaken several development works. Every year, around Rs 24,000 crores is credited to the bank accounts of Gruha Lakshmis. In Magadi itself, 51,000 families are benefitting from the Gruha Lakshmi scheme.”

Taking a jibe at BJP she said, the saffron party spends Rs 5,000 crore to build Ram Mandir. However, “We are directly transferring Rs 4,800 crore monthly for women beneficiaries of GruhaLakshmi scheme. We are the ones trying to bring in ‘Ram Rajya’ by improving people’s lives,” she said.
