A division bench of Karnataka High Court on Thursday allowed the state government to conduct board exams for classes 5, 8, 9, and 11 for students studying in the state syllabus.

Earlier yesterday(Mar 6), a single-judge bench, hearing a petition filed by the Organisation for Unaided Recognised Schools and the Registered Unaided Private Schools’ Management Association, had dismissed a circular issued by the Education Department to conduct board exams for classes 5, 8, 9, and 11 for students studying in the state syllabus.

The state government had approached the court seeking a stay on the March 6 order.

Hearing the appeal, the division bench issued a stay order on the March 6 order thus paving way for the exams to be conducted as scheduled from March 11.
