Udupi: Burglars loot Rs 18.8 lakh worth jewellery, cash

Udupi: Thieves broke into a house in Badagabettu here and plundered diamond jewellery and cash on the night of March 10.

The crime came to light on the next morning.

It was discovered that the burglars gained entry into House No. 76 in Badagabettu by smashing the kitchen window.

The homeowners, in their complaint to the police, claimed that diamond jewellery worth Rs 18 lakhs and cash worth Rs 80,000 — totaling Rs 18.8 lakhs stored in the house was found to be stolen.

A case has been registered at the dupi City police station.
