District Cong leader and Social Worker Shekhar Suvarna Bengre passes away

Shekhar Suvarna Bengre, District Congress President and a dedicated social worker succumbed to a heart attack at the age of 81 on Friday, March 15. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

Throughout his life, Bengre served in various capacities, notably as the Vice President of the Mangalore South Division of the Congress Party. He garnered public admiration for his numerous development initiatives while serving as the President of the Bengre Mahajana Sabha. Additionally, he actively participated in religious endeavors, notably at the Sheshashayana Mandir in Bengre.

The final rites of the leader will be conducted at 10 am on Sunday at Sands Pit Bengre in Mangalore.

Leaders and members of various organizations expressed their condolences on Bengre’s passing. Chetan Bengre, President of the Bengre Mahajana Sabha, along with former presidents Mohan Bengre and Keshav Karkera, and leaders from the Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Samyukta Sabha and other associations, extended their sympathies to the bereaved family.
