Shivamogga: Former Chief Minister of Karnataka, B S Yediyurappa, has dismissed allegations made by senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa regarding the denial of a ticket to K E Kantesh from Haveri constituency.

Addressing reporters in Shivamogga City on Sunday, Yediyurappa clarified that he was not responsible for the denial of the ticket to Eshwarappa’s son Kantesh, attributing the decision to the Central Election Committee. He said that efforts were being made to reconcile with Eshwarappa and anticipated his participation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming event.

Yediyurappa downplayed Eshwarappa’s remarks as something “spoken in a moment of anger.” He emphasized Eshwarappa’s significant contributions to the party and expressed confidence that the situation would be resolved.

Alleging BSY was responsible for denying a BJP ticket to Kantesh, on Friday, Eshwarappa had announced to contest elections independently from Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency, where Yediyurappa’s son B Y Raghavendra will be contesting on a BJP ticket.

On Sunday, Yediyurappa emphasized Eshwarappa’s integral role in shaping the BJP in Karnataka. He mentioned that efforts were ongoing to persuade Eshwarappa to reconsider his decision and participate in the party’s programs.

Yediyurappa concluded on a positive note, highlighting the success of Modi’s recent program in Kalaburagi and expressing optimism about the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
