LS polls: Three rowdy sheeters booked under Goonda Act in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the Mangaluru police have booked three persons, with a criminal history, under the Goonda Act (Preventive Detention Act) as a precautionary measure to maintain peace, law and order in the district.
Mohammed Kabir alias Chabbi (31) of Ullal Kotepura, Nawaz (30) of Gurupura Matha and Jayaprashanth (30) of Shakthinagar have been booked under the Goonda Act as per orders of Mangaluru police commissioner Anupam Agrawal.
Kabir was involved in 14 criminal cases, including one murder case and three attempt to murder cases. Nawaz has eight cases registered against him, including one murder and one attempt to murder, at Bajpe, Kavoor, Mangaluru Rural, Mangaluru East and Barke police stations. Jayaprashanth has eight cases, including three rioting and one attempt to murder.
