Following a complaint by the family of the deceased, the police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The deceased, identified as Lohitashwa (30) and a resident of Manjotti in Nada village, was accompanied by four companions in a car when they arrived at the banks of the Netravati River in Shamboor.

However, after a while, Lohitashwa’s lifeless body was found in the water, still dressed and wearing a wristwatch. The death was claimed to be a case of drowning.
