Suspected Naxals reportedly visited a house in the forest area of Ainekidu village near Subrahmanya in Kadaba taluk.

According to the information received, the incident occurred around 6 pm on Saturday. The group of suspects reached the worker’s shed in the farm after which the worker locked the door, prompting the suspects to proceed to the neighboring house belonging to the farm owner. The suspects engaged in conversation with the family for over an hour.

The distance between this recent sighting in Ainekidu and the previous appearance of Naxals at Koojimala on the Dakshina Kannada-Kodagu border last week is approximately 25 km. Despite continuous search operations conducted by the anti-Naxal squad, the presence of Naxals in the vicinity went unnoticed by the ANF team.

The area visited by the suspected Naxals is situated near the Pati Kumeri forest of the Kumara Parvata range, providing potential routes through the forest to Kerala via Somwarpet and Gaalibeedu, Sampaje.
