Manipal: Group fatally attacks youth, 6 held

Udupi: In a shocking incident, a youth was chased and thrashed by a group near Saralabettu in Manipal over a trivial issue.
The CCTV footage of the assault has gone viral on social media. The victim has been identified as Aarush Kumar (21) from Mumbai.
Sources said that an accidental touch at a restaurant led to the brawl. It is said that Aarush’s leg touched one of the youths, which led to an altercation.
The group not only thrashed the victim at the restaurant but also chased him to the apartment where he lived and assaulted him. Aarush’s friends reportedly came to his aid, after which the group left the scene.
A complaint has been lodged at the Manipal police station in this regard.
In response, Udupi SP Dr. K Arun said 5 youths involved in the attack have been apprehended, and a juvenile has been detained. The accused youths have been identified as Rakshith, Gagan, Dilip, Tanish, and Ankit.
