Tumakuru Police solve case of 3 bodies found in burnt car in Kuchchangi Lake; 6 arrested

Belthangady/Tumakuru: Six persons have been arrested in connection with the case of charred bodies found in a burnt car in Kuchchangi Lake under the Kora police station of the taluk, Tumakuru District Superintendent of Police K.V. Ashok said.
In a press conference at the Tumakuru district police office, the SP informed that Madhu (24) of Puttaswamayya Palya, Naveen (24) of Santhepet, Krishna (22) of Venkateshpura, Ganesh (19) of Hombayyanapalya, Kiran (23) of Naganna Palya, and Simon (18) of Kalidasanagar were arrested.
According to police, the arrested accused had taken the victims to Beeranakallu Hill, attacked them with weapons, and dumped the car and the bodies in the Kuchchangi Lake. To erase any evidence, they set the car on fire.
The victims were identified to be Ishaq Seemam (54), Shahul Hameed (45), and Siddhik (34) from Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada. The victims were enticed with treasure, deceived, robbed of the money brought to buy the treasure, and killed, police added.
The details of the crime were uncovered during the interrogation of one Paataraju alias Raju (35) of Shiragate in Tumakuru, and Vasi Gangaraju (35) of Satyamangala, police said.
Police said, the deceased had been working with Paataraju for the last 6-7 months in search of an ancient treasure, for which Pataraju was paid approximately Rs 6 lakhs.
Failing to uncover the treasure even after 6 months, the victims demanded the return of the money paid. When the deceased persisted and threatened to report to the police, Paataraju, along with his accomplice Gangaraju of Satyamangala, plotted to kill them, police added.
