Sumalatha Ambareesh steps back from Lok Sabha contest

Mandya: In a significant political development, Sumalatha Ambareesh, renowned for her independent candidacy in the previous Mandya Lok Sabha elections, has declared her decision not to contest this time around. Instead, she has pledged her support to the NDA alliance candidate, HD Kumaraswamy.
Addressing a gathering of supporters in Mandya, Sumalatha announced her withdrawal from the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Prior to this declaration, she visited the Kalikamba temple to offer prayers, accompanied by Sandalwood actor Darshan and her son Abhishek Ambarish.
Reflecting on the decision-making process, Sumalatha highlighted the evolving nature of challenges in the political arena. While some had suggested contesting as a idependent candidate, offers from the BJP to contest in various constituencies were also on the table.
Despite encountering resistance from certain quarters, Sumalatha emphasized the importance of empowering her supporters through effective communication of her decisions.
Asserting her commitment to Mandya, Sumalatha reaffirmed her dedication to her constituents, expressing her intention to remain rooted in the region. She underscored the transient nature of political power, emphasizing the enduring significance of love and support from her followers.
