Former Koppal MP, Shivarame Gowda rejoins BJP

Koppala: Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, former MP Shivarame Gowda rejoined the BJP a decade after quitting the party to join Congress.
On Friday, Gowda was inducted into the party by former CM B S Yediyurappa (BSY) at the BJP office in Bengaluru. Party state president B Y Vijayendra, and other BJP leaders including R. Ashok, and C T Ravi, were present.
In 2009, Shivarame Gowda got a resounding victory from Koppal Lok Sabha constituency contesting on a BJP ticket. However, he quit the BJP after being denied a ticket in the next general elections in 2014. Consequently, he joined the Congress. He has worked within the Congress organization for the past 10 years but decided to rejoin the saffron party.
