Udupi: As the upcoming Ram Navami holds significant importance this year due to the monumental construction of Ayodhya, marking the culmination of centuries of struggle, Sri Pejavara Matha’s Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Sripada, trustee of Ram Janmabhoomi Theertha Kshetra Trust, has called for a special celebration of the festival in every town and village to commemorate this historic occasion.

In a recent meeting held in Ayodhya on April 5, all members of the Trust, deliberated on the plans for the upcoming festivities. It was unanimously decided to organize various events in adherence to the election code of conduct, ensuring no disruptions, Pejavara Sri said.

Including Bhajan sessions, Ramataraka Mantra Japa Yajna, Ramvesha competitions for children, quizzes based on the Ramayana, and distribution of Panaka Kosumbari to devotees is advised. These activities should be hosted collectively in temple bhajan mandirs and community halls across towns, he said.

Emphasizing the importance of service to society, Sri Pejavara seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Sripada highlighted the integration of service activities for the underprivileged. These include supporting educational expenses for talented yet financially disadvantaged students, covering medical expenses for impoverished patients, assisting in the construction of homes for the homeless, and organizing cleaning initiatives in towns and villages.

Furthermore, initiatives such as cleaning lakes, providing water for animals and birds during the scorching summer days, aiding cowsheds, and distributing meals to orphans are also part of the proposed service works. The collective effort of villagers in undertaking such endeavors is envisioned to be a profound service to Sri Ram, he added.
