Mangaluru gears up for PM Modi’s roadshow: Check traffic diversions, parking arrangements

The coastal city of Mangaluru is abuzz with anticipation as Prime Minister Narendra Modi gears up to grace the city with his presence during a scheduled roadshow from Sri Narayanguru Circle to Navabharat Circle near Ladyhill on April 14. However, the excitement comes hand in hand with logistical considerations, particularly regarding security and traffic management.

In light of the Prime Minister’s visit, authorities have put in place alternative arrangements for vehicle movement within the city, starting from 2:00 PM until the culmination of the event. This proactive measure aims to ensure both the Prime Minister’s safety and the convenience of the public during this significant occasion.

The following traffic diversions will be implemented:

Route diversions:

Vehicles arriving in Mangaluru from Udupi should proceed via Kottara Chowki, Kankanady Junction, and Clock Tower.
Vehicles from Pumpwell should proceed via Karavali Junction, Milagres Junction, and Clock Tower. Vehicles from Mangaluru to Pumpwell should proceed via Lady Goshen and Kankanady Junction.
Vehicles from Car Street and Kudroli should proceed via Mannagudde, Ashok Nagar, and Kodikal.
Vehicles from the Bejai Church side should proceed via KSRTC Junction to Kuntikan, and vehicles from Kuntikan should reach Bejai Church via KSRTC Junction.

No vehicular traffic routes:

Vehicular traffic of all types is prohibited from noon till the end of the Prime Minister’s program on the following routes:

Sri Narayanguru Circle (Ladyhill) – Lalbagh – Ballalbagh – Kodiyal Guthu – BG School Junction – PVS – Navbharat Circle – Hampanakatte

Car Street – Kudroli – Kulur Ferry Road  (all vehicular traffic entering MG Road) is prohibited

All traffic is banned on roads from KSRTC, Sridevi College Road, Kodiyal Guthu Road, Jail Road, and Bejai Church Road towards MG Road and via Bunts Hostel towards PVS.

All vehicular traffic from Kottara Chowki, Urwa Store, Kotekani Cross towards Narayanguru Circle (Ladyhill).

All vehicular traffic from Mannagudda Junction towards Narayan Guru Circle (Ladyhill).

All vehicular traffic from Urwa Market towards Narayan Guru Circle (Ladyhill).

All vehicular traffic from KSRTC towards Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill)/ PVS via Lalbagh.

Bunts Hostel, Karangalpadi, Court Cross Road to PVS, M.G. Road – All vehicular traffic on these roads is prohibited.

K.S. Rao Road, Dongarkeri Road, Gaddekeri Road, V.T. Road, all vehicular traffic coming from Sharada Vidyalaya Road towards Navbharat Circle is prohibited.

All vehicular traffic is prohibited from MG Road through Jail Road towards Bejay Church Road.

No vehicle parking:

Parking of vehicles is prohibited on both sides of the road from Bajpe Airport to the city where the Prime Minister travels. The routes include:

Kenjaru – Maravuru – Kavoor – Bondel – Maryhill – KPT – Kottara Chowki – Urva Store – Sri Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill) until the Prime Minister’s program is over.

Parking of vehicles is prohibited on both sides of the road from Sri Narayanguru Circle near Ladyhill where the Road Show will take place – Lalbagh – Ballalbagh – Kodiyal Guthu – BG School Junction – PVS –
Navbharat Circle – City Center – Hampanakatte till the Prime Minister’s program is over.

Parking of vehicles is prohibited on both sides of Hampanakatta – LHH – Bavutagudda – Dr. Ambedkar Circle – Bunts Hostel – Bharat Beedi – Kadri Kambala – Bhattagudde road till the Prime Minister’s program is over.

Parking of vehicles is prohibited on both sides of the road from Kavoor – Panjimogaru – Kulur – 4th Mile – Kottara Chowki till the Prime Minister’s program is over.

Parking of vehicles is prohibited till the end of the program on the two-way roads from Hampanakatta – L.H.H. – Balmath Road – Rupa Hotel Road – Dr. Ambedkar Circle – Collector’s Gate Circle – Horticulture Junction – St. Agnes – Shivabagh – Nantoor Circle – Padua – K.P.T.

Parking of vehicles is prohibited on both side roads from BG Junction – Jail Road – Bejai Church Road till the Prime Minister’s program is over.

The public attending the program should park their vehicles in the following parking lots before 5 PM and proceed to the designated places to witness the Prime Minister’s Roadshow:
