Mysuru: Former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa paid a visit to Chamarajanagar MP V Srinivas Prasad, who has distanced himself from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the denial of a ticket to his son-in-law. This visit came in the wake of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s meeting with Srinivasa Prasad the day before.

During the visit, Yediyurappa invited Prasad to share the platform with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in today’s BJP convention. However, Srinivas Prasad promptly declined the request, affirming his retirement from active politics.

Prasad emphasized his respect for Modi, referring to him as a “global leader” and “the best Prime Minister” he has seen. Srinivas Prasad reiterated his commitment to refrain from speaking negatively about Modi and the BJP.

Following the public exchange, Yediyurappa and Srinivas Prasad held a private discussion, away from the media’s scrutiny. Although the details of their conversation were undisclosed, it hinted at potential negotiations or reconciliations amidst the ongoing political tensions.

Later, senior leaders confirmed that Srinivas Prasad had been invited to participate in Modi’s program during the BJP convention. While Srinivas Prasad acknowledged the invitation with gratitude, he affirmed his decision to abstain from the event, citing his retirement from active political engagements. Despite the cordial invitation extended by Yediyurappa, Srinivasa Prasad remained firm in his stance.
