Udupi: Activists gather to support Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde

Udupi: In preparation for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 26, a meeting of activists was convened at the residence of senior Congress leader Indu Ramananda Bhat in the 31st Bailur Nagar Sabha Ward. The meeting was organized by the Udupi Block Congress Committee to extend support to K Jayaprakash Hegde, the candidate contesting from the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Vice President of Udupi District Mahila Congress Committee, Jyoti Hebbar, highlighted the achievements of the Congress-led state government. She emphasized the implementation of various guarantee schemes aimed at assisting the common people.
Hebbar pointed out the benefits of schemes such as Gruha Lakshmi Yojana, which provides Rs. 2,000 per month to individuals, and Gruha Jyoti Yojana, offering free electricity to numerous families, thereby aiding in saving monthly expenses. Additionally, she mentioned the provision of free travel for women in KSRTC buses and access to religious places of their choice.
“The Congress led state government has delivered what it had promised and it has helped the common people through guarantee schemes,” she added.
The meeting saw the presence of Congress candidate K Jayaprakash Hegde, along with his daughter Divya, and several other leaders and activists including Prasadraj Kanchan, Mahabala Kunder, Harish Kini, and Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje. Local leaders and activists from the 31st Bailur Ward were urged to support Jayaprakash Hegde’s candidacy and actively work towards ensuring his victory in the upcoming elections.
Prominent attendees at the gathering included Yuvraj Puttur, Amrit Shenai, Sandhya Thilakraj, Suresh Shetty Bannanje, Nasir, Ganesh Nergi, Anand Pujari, Maxim D’Souza, Shashiraj, and numerous others. The event concluded with a call to action for the community to participate in the democratic process by exercising their right to vote.
