Kota / Brahmavara: In a spirited address during a foot march and activists’ convention, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha Constituency candidate K. Jayaprakash announced that a separate manifesto has been prepared by keeping the constituency’s  need in mind. The manifesto will be directly distributed to each constituent’s homes soon, he said.

Speaking on his campaign trail, Hegde highlighted the necessity of understanding past development efforts to pave the way for future progress. He underscored the importance of foresight and a “clear developmental vision” for aspiring leaders.

“A leader must possess a clear concept of constituency’s developmental trajectory,” Hegde asserted, emphasizing the indispensable role of foresight in leadership. He cautioned against the allure of empty promises, urging voters to discern genuine commitment from hollow rhetoric.

He said, “Any good leader should have thoughts of development. He should have the foresight to do something when he has power. He cannot be a good leader without both of them. Without faith in his own charisma, he puts forward unnecessary ideas and asks for votes by projecting the names of the leaders of Delhi. Voters do not value such individuals.”

Hegde stressed the significance of actionable initiatives. He lamented the sluggish progress of sanctioned development projects in the district, citing the incomplete state of national highways as a stark reminder of administrative and leadership shortcomings.

Hegde said, “If I view new dreams and development ideas as a model, the BJP candidate has said that the sitting MP is the model for him. This means that if he wins the election, he will neither develop nor face the constituency. People! decide whether you want such representatives.”

Drawing attention to legislative endeavors, Hegde highlighted his advocacy for the enfranchisement of primary school teachers and the facilitation of remote voting through private bills.

Jayaprakash Hegde went on a foot march from Brahmavar Akashvani Circle to Petri Circle appealing for votes. Hundreds of activists and supporters marched alongside him.

Congress leader Prasad Raj Kanchan lauded Hegde’s enduring contributions to local development initiatives, citing infrastructure projects and fisheries development as emblematic achievements.

The convention, attended by local Congress leaders including Brahmavar Block Congress President Dinakar Heroor, provided a platform for Hegde to engage with constituents.
