Chikkamagaluru: MLA H D Tammaiah, in a fervent appeal to the residents of Chikkamagaluru, urged their support for former MP K Jayaprakash Hegde, citing his impactful development initiatives during his tenure.
MLA HD Tammaiah said, “K Jayaprakash Hegde is a simple man, but the development programs initiated by him during his time as an MP are still admired today. Let’s make Hegde an MP again.”
Tammaiah’s call to action was delivered during the launch of a door-to-door pamphlet distribution campaign organized by the Block Congress.
Highlighting the significance of supporting the Congress party, Tammaiah emphasized the need to uplift the lives of marginalized communities. He distributed pamphlets outlining the 5 Guarantee Schemes of the National Congress and the 5 Guarantees of the State Government, aiming to garner support for Hegde’s re-election bid.
“The relentless efforts of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar are instrumental in advancing these welfare schemes,” Tammaiah remarked.
Gayatri Shante Gowda, a former member of the Karnataka Legislative Council, strongly criticized former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, alleging that he obstructed pro-people schemes of the state government and disrespected women. Gowda condemned Kumaraswamy’s remarks, labeling them as unacceptable.
Block Congress President HP Manjegowda echoed Tammaiah’s sentiments, stating, “We are distributing pamphlets to every household to advocate for Hegde’s victory and to emphasize the Congress party’s pledge to eradicate corruption and enhance the quality of life for the people.”
The event saw the presence of prominent figures including KPCC General Secretary Rekha Huliappa Gowda, former District Congress President ML Murthy, and City Council members Lakshmana, Manjula Lakshmana, CP Lakshmana, and Kavya.
