Agumbe: Villagers in Balehalli, Ulumadi, Suruligadde, and Kanagul have voiced their frustration to the district collector, announcing their intent to boycott upcoming elections until their demands are met.

Approximately 40 to 45 families reside in these villages, where the absence of a proper road network has severely hindered daily life. Residents contend that without adequate road infrastructure, accessing their homes has become increasingly challenging. Furthermore, the lack of proper roads has significantly impacted the commute of 20 to 30 students, making it difficult for them to attend school.

Despite the presence of an electricity system in the village, another pressing issue arises from the inadequate water supply due to the absence of a proper water treatment plant.

In a letter addressed to the district collector, residents have detailed the dire circumstances they face, emphasizing the urgent need for action to address these fundamental infrastructure deficiencies. Until meaningful steps are taken to improve road connectivity and resolve water supply issues, the villagers have pledged to withhold their participation in the electoral process.
