Neha Hiremath
Mangaluru: Bajrang Dal, a Hindu nationalist organization, has called for the capital punishment of Fayaz, the accused in the tragic killing of college student Neha Hiremath (23) in Hubballi. The incident, fueled by alleged romantic rejection, has reignited discussions on “love jihad” in the region.
Bhujanga Kulal, the Prantha Sanyojak of Bajrang Dal, vehemently demanded justice, asserting that the accused’s actions represented a grave example of “love jihad”.
Kulal attributed such incidents to what he described as the state government’s “policy of Muslim appeasement” and alleged “favouritism” towards the Muslim community.
He alleged that such acts are being carried out for “targeting Hindus” during elections.
Love Jihad is a term used to describe interfaith relationships alleged to be a strategic tool for religious conversion.
