Kargil war veteran Melwyn Dilip Alva laid to rest with military honours

Katapadi: Kargil war veteran Melwyn Dilip Alva was laid to rest with military honours at Shankarapura on Friday, April 19.

Alva passed away at his residence in Shankarpur Subhash Nagar on April 14.

The body of Melvin Dilip Alva was buried at Shankarpur St. John’s Church. On behalf of CRPF Director General, Inspector D.N. Chandurkar, and three officers laid the national flag on the casket and paid military honors.

Udupi District President of Ex-Servicemen Association Rajesh Mendon, D.K. District’s Chako K .J. also paid tributes.

Catholic priest Rev. Prakash Anil Castellino led the prayers for the departed soul. The deceased’s mother Philomena Alva, and sisters Sumana Alva and Usha Alva were present.
