Udupi: Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Sripada, the seer of Sri Pejavara Matha, expressed his appreciation for the support extended to the continuance of the folk art form of Yakshagana.

He was addressing the gathering during the inauguration of the new building of Yakshagana Kalaranga, named “Infosys Foundation Yakshagana Development and Training Research Center (IYC)”, located on Sharada Kalyana Mandapa Road on Sunday.

Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Sripada stated, “Whose life helps to build the lives of ten people is a real life. A person gets closer to death with each passing day. But the organizations established in the society grow stronger and become closer to the society.”

Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar, Trustee of Infosys Foundation, emphasized the importance of preserving Yakshagana, stating, “Yakshagana has been providing classical stories to the society along with entertainment. Yakshagana is currently facing many challenges due to declining art patrons. Art can be saved and nurtured when art and art patronage come together. In this regard, all conscious art patrons need to make efforts.”

Sri Ishapriya Thirtha Sripada, seer of Sri Adamaru Matha, highlighted the significance of perseverance in the arts, stating, “Any work can be completed if one continues to work hard. Let this organization inspire young artists to save art.”

Adding to the sentiment, Sri Vishwavallabha Thirtha Sripada, seer of Sri Sode Matha, commended the dedication of Yaksha Kalaranga, stating, “The hard work of the institution has got fruit with the new building.”

Various dignitaries including MAHE  Pro-Chancellor Dr. H.S. Ballal, Dr. G. Shankar of G. Shankar Family Trust, and Dr. N. B. Vijaya Ballal of Ambalapadi Sri Janardana Mahakali Temple were present at the ceremony.

The event saw the felicitation of key personalities, including Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar, Dr. H.S. Ballal, Dr. G. Shankar, Dr. N.B. Vijay Ballal, and Rameshchandra Hegde.
