Veena Hegde, the wife of former MP and Congress candidate for Udupi-Chikmaglur constituency K Jayaprakash Hegde, called upon voters in Sringeri to back her husband in the upcoming elections.

Speaking during a door-to-door campaign for Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde at Kavadi of Addagadde Gram Panchayat, Veena Hegde emphasized Jayaprakash Hegde’s previous popularity and his commitment to addressing local issues.

“Jayaprakash Hegde has a proven history of addressing the concerns of Udupi and Chikmagaluru districts, particularly highlighting the challenges faced by areca nut growers,” Veena Hegde said and stressed that her husband has consistently advocated for the region’s development, including pushing for stalled projects such as the national highway.

During the campaign event, Block Women’s Unit President Shakeela Gundappa, along with Congress leader Devendra and other supporters, echoed Veena Hegde’s sentiments, urging voters to re-elect Jayaprakash Hegde and entrust him with the responsibility to serve the constituency once again.
