LS Elections 2024: Brisk voting in Udupi & Dakshina Kannada; EVM snag delays polling in some booths

Udupi / Dakshina Kannada: Voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, with voters in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts turning out peacefully to exercise their franchise.
Voting began promptly at 7 am this morning and is scheduled to continue until 6 pm.
In Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts, the polling process has been peaceful, with voters forming queues to cast their votes.
Polling in Someshwar town was delayed due to faulty EVM machines. After the snag was corrected, the voting process commenced. Overall, the atmosphere has remained calm and orderly.
Several areas including Padubidri, Shirva, Kaup, Karkala, Someshwar, Bantwal, and Belthangady have reported robust voter turnout.
Despite the scorching summer heat, citizens have enthusiastically gathered at polling booths since the early hours of voting.
