Padubidri: Speeding car collides with electric pole, one dead

A car traveling from Mangalore to Karkala veered out of control and collided with an electric pole, resulting in the death of a woman.

The victim has been identified as Sumangala Abhyankar, aged 51. She was en route from her residence in Kavoor, Mangalore to attend an upanayanam ceremony taking place in Karkala.

The car, driven by her husband Purushottam Abhyankar, aged 61, was reportedly traveling at a high speed on the state highway when the accident occurred.

The Padubidri police station has registered a case in connection with the incident.
