Thekkatte: One killed four injured in road mishap

A tragic accident near Guddeangadi claimed the life of a young woman and left four others seriously injured when the Innova car they were traveling in lost control, veered off the road and collided with a tree before plunging into a pit.
The incident took place on April 27 around 2:30 PM at the Koikadi turn.
The deceased has been identified as Keerthi (25), an employee of Phone Pay in Bengaluru.
Reportedly, the Innova car, carrying a total of six passengers on their way from Bengaluru to Gokarna, skidded off the road afgter the driver lost control, resulting in the fatal collision with a roadside tree.
Among the survivors are Bengaluru-based friends Vignesh (28), Chetan (28), Aishwarya (27), and Lata (26), who sustained serious injuries in the crash.
The severity of the accident caused extensive damage to one side of the car, making it difficult for locals to remove the trapped passengers from the car.
Upon learning of the incident, MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi promptly visited the injured at a private hospital in Koteshwar, ensuring they received necessary medical attention. Authorities, including Brahmavar Circle Inspector Diwakar and Kota Police Station Officer Tejaswi, initiated an investigation into the matter, registering a case at Kota Police Station.
