Residents of several areas in Mangalore are set to experience a temporary disruption in their water supply, as the Mangalore Municipal Corporation announced a planned suspension of water services. The suspension is scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM on May 30 and last until 6:00 AM on May 1, affecting various neighborhoods across the city.
The interruption is necessitated by essential maintenance work on the piping infrastructure connecting the Rechaka plant to Mangaluru city. This maintenance is crucial for optimizing the water supply system within the city corporation.
During the 24-hour period of water supply suspension, residents in specific areas including Padil, Maroli, Kankanady, Mangaladevi, Jeppu, Falnir, Mulihitlu, Bolar, Car Street, Mannagudda, Pandeshwar, State Bank, Shaktinagar, Bajal, Jeppinamogaru, Kannur, Alape, Attavar, Ullas Nagar, Chilimbi, Kodikal, Urvastore, Ashokanagar, Kudupu, Vamanjoor, Bondel, Kavoor, and Marakada will experience partial cut-offs in their water supply.
The Mangalore Municipal Corporation advises residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements for alternative water sources or storage during this period. They assure that efforts will be made to minimize inconvenience and restore normal water supply as swiftly as possible after the completion of the maintenance work.
