Chikkamagaluru: At least 30 injured after tourist mini bus overturns near Datta Peetha

A 6-year-old boy was killed and 30 tourists, including women and children, were injured after a minibus rolled off the road at the Manikyadhara turn on Sunday.

The tourists were returning from Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Giri.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Sawaj (6).

According to preliminary reports around 30 members of a family from Adivala in Hiriyur in the Chitradurga district had come for a pilgrimage to Bababudan Giri. The bus toppled at the second turn along the Bababudan Giri Vadhi route towards Manikyadhara.

Ambulances rushed the injured to the district hospital for medical attention.

A survivor recounted the chaotic moment, describing how the minibus abruptly stopped and overturned while heading towards Manikyadhara.
