Manipal: K V Kamath conferred with honorary doctorate at MAHE’s special convocation

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) bestowed an honorary doctorate upon K.V. Kamath, Chairman of the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development and Chairman of Jio Financial Services Ltd.

The honorary doctorate was conferred to K V Kamath in a special convocation held in Manipal on Monday, April 29.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Mr. Kamath remarked that receiving the honorary doctorate from MAHE was a deeply humbling experience for him.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kamath has been dedicated to elevating India’s institutions on the global stage and advocating for sustainable development. He expressed that being acknowledged by an esteemed institution like MAHE serves as further motivation for him to continue his endeavors.

MAHE Pro-Chancellor H.S. Ballal commended Mr. Kamath’s exceptional contributions, stating, “Today, MAHE takes immense pride in recognizing the exceptional contributions of K.V. Kamath. K.V. Kamath is widely recognized as a visionary leader and pioneer in the fields of banking and finance. His contributions have not only transformed industries but have also inspired countless individuals globally. As the former Chairman of ICICI Bank, his guidance propelled advancements in retail banking, technology adoption, and corporate governance, setting new standards for the industry.

Moreover, Mr. Kamath’s association with MAHE extends beyond this honorary recognition. He has previously served as a member of the board of management of MAHE.
