JDS leader H.D. Revanna was taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) after his anticipatory bail was rejected by the people’s representative court in a sexual assault case.
A team of SIT officials arrived at the residence of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda in Padmanabha Nagar, Bangalore, and after a prolonged wait, Revanna was apprehended.
The case stems from a complaint filed by a 20-year-old man alleging that Revanna had abducted his mother, who was purportedly featured in sex tapes. Revanna faces charges of kidnapping in connection with the incident. The woman, according to police reports, was located in Hunsur, with ongoing efforts to gather information from her.
Satish Babu, also known as Satish Babanna, an accused in the kidnapping case, has been remanded to judicial custody for a period of 14 days by the police.
