Thieves decamp with valuables from Sri Yaksheshwari temple

Thieves decamped with valuables and cash totaling Rs. 30,000 from Sri Yaksheshwari temple in Vaderahobali village on May 2.

Following the morning puja at 10 am, the temple priests concluded their rituals and dleft the temple, leaving the premises unattended. At approximately 3 pm, Santosh, the temple’s secretary, arrived to discover the hundi emptied and the theft reported.

Upon further inspection, it was revealed that along with the cash, valuables including approximately 2 kg of copper pot, estimated at Rs. 5 lakhs, and a brass lamp weighing about 6 kg, valued at Rs. 10,000, were also missing.

The temple management board vice president, Manjunatha, lodged a complaint with the Kundapur police station, prompting authorities to initiate an investigation into the incident.
