KS Manjunath, also known as Santro Ravi, accused in a case involving rape and death threats, has been granted bail by the Sixth Additional Court of Mysuru.
Ravi, who had been in custody for 14 months, secured bail on grounds of health issues, as per the decision of the presiding judge.
Santro Ravi, notorious for various criminal allegations, was extradited from Gujarat last year, presenting a significant challenge for the state government. Despite previous unsuccessful bail attempts in both the High Court and the Supreme Court, Ravi’s recent plea found favor with the lower court.
The case against Santro Ravi, registered in Mysuru last year, encompassed charges ranging from prostitution to rape.
During his arrest, incriminating evidence, including mobile phones and documents, revealed his alleged connections with ministers, MLAs, and high-ranking officials. Consequently, the then Home Minister Araga Jnanendra ordered the CID to assume control of the investigation into the Santro Ravi case.
