Vijayapura: Three children who had been missing since Sunday were found dead at a sewage treatment plant in Shantiniketan Nagar here, on Monday afternoon.
The children, identified as Anushka (9), Vijay (7), and Mihir, couldn’t be found despite efforts from family, neighbors, and locals. CCTV footage showed their movements until 11 am. After that, they were nowhere to be seen.
Their family had registered a missing complaint at the APMC police station.
It is suspected that the kids might have fallen into the water, but investigations are ongoing, police said.
The incident has sparked protests, with parents demanding better security measures and CCTV cameras in the area. They staged a protest, placing the bodies on the road.
Senior police officials and the deputy collector arrived at the scene and assured appropriate action. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
