An FIR has been filed against the management of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) over allegations of serving stale food to spectators during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 T20 cricket match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 12.

The complaint, lodged at the Cubbon Park police station, targets both the KSCA management and the canteen manager. It was filed by 23-year-old Chaitanya, who attended the match at the stadium along with his friend Gautham, watching from the Qatar Airways Fans Terrace Stand.

During the course of the match, Chaitanya and Gautham consumed various food items from the stand’s canteen, including ghee rice, idli, channa masala, cutlet, raitha, and dry jamoon. However, shortly after consuming the food, Chaitanya began experiencing severe stomach ache.

The situation took a turn for the worse when Chaitanya collapsed while seated. Prompt action was taken, and he received first aid treatment in an ambulance stationed outside the stadium, with the assistance of stadium staff.

Following the incident, Chaitanya was admitted to a private hospital, where medical professionals diagnosed him with food poisoning, allegedly stemming from the food consumed at the stadium’s canteen.
