MAHE Manipal’s Air Condition Division hosts successful Spandana Trophy 2024, raises Rs 6L funds for pediatric cancer patients

The Air Condition Division of General Services at MAHE Manipal organized a two-day cricket tournament, the “Spandana Trophy 2024 Season – 2,” on March 16th and 17th. The event aimed to provide financial assistance to children affected by cancer, specifically those from underprivileged backgrounds.
The tournament not only raised substantial funds but also brought joy to children undergoing treatment at the Access Life Center Manipal. With the collective effort of participants and supporters, the event successfully raised approximately 6.0 lakhs. This amount was officially handed over to Dr. Vasudeva Bhat, Head of the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, through Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao, Pro-Vice Chancellor of MAHE Manipal.
During the handover ceremony, Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao commended the organizers for their noble efforts, emphasizing the importance of such social initiatives in a time when the costs of medical treatments, especially for cancer, are rapidly increasing.
Mr. C.G. Muthana, COO of MAHE Manipal, Dr. Anand Venugopal, COO of Teaching Hospitals, MAHE Manipal, Dr. Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent of Kasturba Hospital Manipal, and Mr. Sridhar Rao, Director of General Services at MAHE Manipal were present.
