Chitradurga: The police have received the final report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) regarding the five skeletons found in a house on Jail Road in Chitradurga. The report reveals that there were signs of consumption of sleeping pills on the human remains.

SP Dharmender Kumar Meena stated that traces of sleeping pills were found during the examination of the bones. The five people were identified as retired engineer Jagannath Reddy, his wife Prema, daughter Triveni, and sons Narendra Reddy and Krishna Reddy. They were originally from Doddasiddavvanahalli in Chitradurga taluk. Their skeletons were discovered on December 28, 2023.

Dr. Venu from the district hospital and Dr. Srikrishna, a forensic expert from Basaveshwar Hospital, conducted the post-mortem examinations. They found traces of sleeping pills in the skin of some of the deceased during the post-mortem.

Although the report identified the presence of sleeping pills, it did not clarify the exact cause of death. Due to the passage of five years since their deaths, finding proper evidence has been challenging. However, the discovery of sleeping pills has provided a logical explanation for their deaths, ending many doubts about the case.
