Hubballi: Police on Thursday arrested the accused in the Anjali Ambiger murder case from Davanagere.

The accused Girisha Sawant alias Vishwanath had gone absconding after brutally stabbing the 21-year-old to death at her residence on Wednesday.

Police said that Girish slipped and fell while trying to board a train at Davanagere. He was arrested and brought to Hubballi and admitted to KIMS.

Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner Rnuka S visited the hospital and enquired about the accused’s health from his doctor.
