Yashodha, the sister of Anjali Ambiger, attempted suicide by consuming phenyl and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Gangamma Ambiger, grandmother of Yashoda said that she attempted suicide due to distress over her sister’s accused not being punished and is receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Gangamma expressed her anguish, saying, “We are demanding justice for Anjali’s death. However, it is disheartening that the accused is receiving medical treatment instead of being punished. He should be sentenced to life imprisonment.”
She further informed that her granddaughter is currently in stable condition and receiving treatment at KIMS.
