Horrific accident at Shiradi Ghat: Mother and son from Bantwal killed
Several others have been critically injured in the collision between car and container lorry

Sakleshpur: A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning at Shiradi Ghat on National Highway 75. An Innova car collided with a container lorry, resulting in the death of two people and serious injuries to the others in the car.
The accident happened around 6:30 am, about eight kilometers from Maranahalli. The Innova was traveling from Sakleshpur towards Mangaluru, while the container lorry was coming from Mangalore.
The deceased have been identified as Shafia (48) and her son Shafiq (21), residents of Bondala village in Bantwala taluk. The car had six people in it, including children, and all of them sustained serious injuries.
The injured have been rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.
A case has been registered at the Sakaleshpur Rural Police Station and are investigating the incident.
