Udupi: The Udupi district BJP has recommended the immediate expulsion of former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, who has been accused of rebelling against the party’s official candidate. The recommendation was made to the state committee in response to Bhatt’s actions, which have reportedly confused party activists and voters.
“Raghupathi Bhatt is posing as a candidate supported by BJP workers who have rebelled against the party. This has created confusion and is not acceptable,” stated District BJP President Kishore Kumar Kundapur in an interview with Udayavani.
“It is essential to maintain clarity and unity within our party, especially during election periods,” he said
Kundapur has issued a formal announcement, emphasizing that any behavior by office bearers or workers that embarrasses the party will not be tolerated. “Our party’s philosophy is that everyone is equal, and appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken against those engaging in anti-party activities,” he asserted.
The district BJP is confident in the success of its official candidates. Dr. Dhananjaya Sarji, the BJP candidate for the South-West Graduate Constituency, and SL Bhoje Gowda, the NDA candidate for the teachers’ constituency, are both expected to secure victories.
