Udupi: Video of clash between car-borne gang goes viral

Udupi: A gang war between two groups in Kunjibettu, surfaced recently, drawing significant attention.

The altercation involved youths from Kapu who engaged in a violent clash while driving on the Udupi-Manipal National Highway.

The incident, which took place on May 18, was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread concern and discussion.

Local police acted swiftly, arresting the individuals involved in the brawl. The accused have been remanded in judicial custody until June 1.

“Video of the clash between two groups of the same gangs that took place about a week ago has gone viral. A case has been registered in this regard at the Udupi Town Police Station on May 20,” said Udupi SP Dr. Arun K in a video press release.

“Two persons have already been arrested in the case. A Swift car, 2 two-wheelers, and other weapons including knives and swords used in the crime have been seized. Other accused are absconding. We will arrest them soon,” he added.

A case has been registered at the Udupi Town police station, and further investigations are underway.
