There was an attempt to murder rowdy sheeter Bharat Shetty using swords and knives that occurred on Wednesday night at Kulaigudde in Kulai village, under the jurisdiction of Surathkal police station.
Bharat Shetty, along with his friend Suvin, had reportedly arrived at a wine shop in Kulaiyigudde on a two-wheeler around 10:15 PM. Suvin went inside the wine shop to buy beer. At that time, Bharat Shetty was sitting on the two-wheeler, talking to an acquaintance, Sujith.
It is gathered that the accused, Kishan, Chetu Padil, Raju Farangipete, Gujje Shailesh, and a few others, arrived in a car, rammed it into Bharat Shetty, and attempted to kill him.
They also allegedly attacked Bharat Shetty with swords and knives, injuring his left arm, right leg, and lower lip. Others present at the scene rushed Bharat Shetty to a private hospital.
It is alleged that the attack was carried out on the instructions of Manoj Kodikere. Bharat Shetty, in his complaint, told the Surathkal police that the attack was carried out based on information provided by Manish Poojary about his movements.
Both Are Rowdy-Sheeters:
Both Manoj and Bharat are rowdy sheeters with several cases pending against them. Bharat Shetty has murder cases registered against him in Pandeshwar and Surathkal police stations. Manoj Kodikere is also involved in multiple cases, including murder.
The gang led by Manoj Kodikere, known as the “Kodikere Team,” is involved in several cases. Manoj Kodikere was the main accused in the murder of rowdy-sheeter Kishan Hegde in Hiriyadka in September 2020. Along with him, five others, including Chetu Padil, were arrested. This gang has now become active again.
It is reported that the assaulted Bharat Shetty was once associated with the Kodikere Team.
