Sagara: A fight erupted between two women over a seat in a KSRTC bus at the Sagara bus stand on Friday night.

Since the inception of the state government’s Shakti scheme, which provides free travel for women on government buses, there has been an increase in the number of women relying on government buses. Consequently, incidents of women fighting over seats on buses have also become more frequent.

A similar incident occurred on a bus departing from the Sagara KSRTC bus stand to Shivamogga. Two women got into an argument over a seat, which escalated into a physical altercation. Though the bus driver, conductor, and other passengers tried to calm the situation, the fight continued. Consequently, the bus driver took the bus to the Sagara Town Police Station.

Following the police intervention, the two women were deboarded from the bus, and the bus continued its journey to Shivamogga.

The police counselled the women and let them go.
