The Congress party leveled serious accusations against Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday, alleging that he has been making intimidation calls to district magistrates and collectors across various districts.

District magistrates and collectors serve as returning officers during elections, making these allegations highly significant. According to Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, Shah has spoken to 150 district officers, reflecting what he termed as the BJP’s desperation ahead of the Lok Sabha election results, which will be announced on June 4.

Ramesh firmly stated that the will of the people would prevail, leading to the departure of Mr. Modi, Mr. Shah, and the BJP. He urged officers not to succumb to any pressure and to uphold the Constitution.
