Udupi: Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Matha has been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Raisina Hills, New Delhi, on Sunday evening.
The invitation from the Prime Minister’s Office was received late at night, prompting Swamiji, who was in Bengaluru at the time, to travel to Delhi.
Padma awardees have been extended invitations to the event, including the posthumous honoree Sri Vishweshathirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Matha, who was awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
Modi 3.0
Narendra Modi, who first came to power with the BJP’s landslide victories in 2014 and 2019, will govern with the support of NDA allies this term. For the first time, Modi is leading a coalition government, as the BJP won 240 seats and fell short of a majority in the Lok Sabha elections. The Modi 3.0 administration will therefore be unique, bolstered by the strength of various parties including the JDU and TDP, bringing the NDA’s total strength to over 300 seats.
The swearing-in ceremony will also be attended by heads of government from India’s neighboring countries, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, Seychelles, and the Maldives.
